Microchip linear active thermistor IC in a TO-92 package. Converts temperature to analogue voltage with 10mV/°C coefficient. Ideal for PCB layouts.
The Microchip Linear Active Thermistor IC is a low-power analogue temperature sensor housed in a compact 3-pin TO-92 package. Designed to convert temperature directly to an analogue voltage, this device eliminates the need for additional signal conditioning circuits, simplifying your design process and reducing development overhead. It offers a straightforward solution by allowing the voltage output pin (VOUT) to connect directly to the analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) input of a microcontroller.
This thermistor operates with a typical current consumption of just 6μA and features a temperature coefficient of 10.0mV/°C. It provides a sensing accuracy of ±1°C and an accuracy of ±2°C within the 0°C to 70°C range, performing reliably across an extended operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. The sensor is specifically optimised to drive large capacitive loads and is immune to the effects of parasitic capacitance. This grants excellent flexibility for printed circuit board (PCB) layout designs, enabling the device to be positioned remotely from the microcontroller without compromising signal integrity.
Key Features
With a wide operating voltage range of 2.3V to 5.5V and a sensor output voltage of 500mV at 0°C, this thermistor is a highly practical choice for applications requiring precise relative temperature measurements. Measuring just 43 mm in height, 33 mm in width, and 15 mm in depth, it is easy to integrate into your existing hardware setups.
