The MICROCHIP MCP1316T-29LE/OT Voltage Supervisor is a precision monitoring device designed to keep microcontrollers in reset until the system voltage has stabilised at a safe operating level. This ensures reliable system operation and protects against brown-out conditions when the supply voltage falls below the set threshold.
With a low supply current of typically 1µA (maximum 10µA), this supervisor is ideal for power-sensitive applications. The device resets the microcontroller during power-loss events and offers flexible reset delay time-out options of 1.4ms, 30ms, 200ms or 1.6s (typical), allowing you to tailor the response to your system requirements. A watchdog timer input with time-out options of 6.3ms, 102ms, 1.6s or 25.6s (typical) provides additional system monitoring.
The supervisor features a manual reset (MR) input (active-low) and both single and complementary reset outputs. Reset output options are push-pull, available in active-high or active-low configurations. The device has a nominal reset threshold voltage of 2.9V and monitors a single supply voltage within the range of 1V to 5.5V.
This voltage supervisor is available in a surface-mount SOT-23 package with five pins, operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, and is AEC-Q100 qualified, making it suitable for automotive and industrial applications. It is ESD sensitive, so proper handling precautions are necessary.
