Microchip MCP601 Single Operational Amplifier 2.8MHz SOIC-8

The Microchip MCP601 Single Operational Amplifier offers a 2.8 MHz gain bandwidth product in a compact 8-pin SOIC package, suited to efficient single-supply designs.

Overview

The MCP601 is a high-performance, low-power CMOS operational amplifier designed for single-supply applications. It combines low bias current, high-speed operation, high open-loop gain and a rail-to-rail output swing. Its extended common-mode input voltage range includes ground and extends 0.3 V below it, making it well suited to circuits operating from a single voltage source.

With a typical quiescent current of 230 µA, the amplifier is designed for efficiency, making it a practical choice for battery-powered and portable electronics where conserving power is important. The 2.8 MHz gain bandwidth product and 2.3 V/µs slew rate support a range of signal processing tasks. The amplifier is unity-gain stable, which simplifies circuit design in feedback configurations.

Key Features

• Rail-to-rail output swing that approaches both power supply rails, maximising dynamic range in low-voltage systems
• Supply range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V, compatible with common 3 V and 5 V logic supplies
• Typical input bias current of 1 pA, supporting high-impedance sensor interfaces and precision integrator circuits
• 90 dB Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) and 88 dB Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR) for stable performance in noisy environments
• Settles to within 0.01% in 4.5 µs for rapid and accurate signal acquisition
• Housed in an 8-pin SOIC (Small Outline Integrated Circuit) package for surface-mount assembly
