MICROCHIP MIC5205 LDO regulator: 3.3V, 150mA, 165mV dropout. Ultra-low noise, ideal for battery-powered & portable electronics.
The MICROCHIP MIC5205-3.3YM5 TR is a high-performance, fixed 3.3V output Low Dropout (LDO) voltage regulator. Presented in a compact 5-pin SOT-23 package, it is engineered for efficiency and reliability in modern electronic designs. It offers an exceptionally low dropout voltage of just 165mV at the full 150mA output, maximising usable battery life and enabling operation from input voltages as low as 2.5V up to 16V.
This device is characterised by its ultra-low noise output, very low ground current, and excellent initial accuracy of better than 1%. These features make it particularly well-suited for sensitive analogue and digital circuits in portable, battery-powered applications such as handheld medical devices, IoT sensors, and consumer electronics. The regulator includes a logic-controlled electronic enable (EN) pin, which is compatible with both CMOS and TTL levels, allowing for external power management. When disabled, the quiescent current drops nearly to zero, virtually eliminating power drain during standby modes.
