Performance and Oscillator Structure

Featuring a high-performance RISC CPU, the microcontroller includes a flexible oscillator structure with a precision 16MHz internal oscillator block. It supports four crystal modes and two external clock modes up to 64MHz, alongside a 4X Phase Lock Loop (PLL) and a secondary oscillator using Timer1 at 32kHz. Safety features include a fail-safe clock monitor for safe shutdown if the peripheral clock stops, and two-speed oscillator start-up.

Advanced Features

Operating with full 5.5V capability, this device is self-reprogrammable under software control. It incorporates power-on reset (POR), power-up timer (PWRT), oscillator start-up timer (OST), and programmable brown-out reset (BOR). An extended watchdog timer (WDT) with an on-chip oscillator and software enable ensures system stability. Programming and debugging are streamlined through In-circuit Serial Programming™ (ICSP™) and In-circuit debug via two pins.

Connectivity and Peripherals

Equipped with an Analogue-to-Digital Converter (ADC) module and a Programmable High/Low Voltage Detection (PLVD) module, it offers versatile interfacing options including EUSART, I2C, and SPI. With 36 I/Os and 28 ADC channels, it provides extensive connectivity for demanding designs.
