Multicomp Pro MP-33 Thermal Switch, Normally Closed, 170°C

The Multicomp Pro MP-33 Thermal Switch is a precision thermostat designed for automatic temperature regulation. This normally closed (N/C) switch activates when the ambient temperature reaches its set point of 170°C, effectively interrupting the circuit to control heating elements or systems. It is engineered for reliability in a wide range of demanding applications, from industrial process control to commercial appliances.

Constructed with high-quality materials, the switch features a bimetal disc actuator for consistent thermal response. The contacts are made from durable AgNi/Cu (T2) alloy, supported by a brass stationary arm and an alloy copper movable arm, ensuring excellent electrical conductivity and long service life. The housing is made from robust PF (phenolic) material, providing insulation and mechanical protection.

Key Specifications & Operation

• Set & Reset Temperatures: The switch is set to open at 170°C ±5°C and will automatically reset, closing the circuit again, when the temperature cools to 140°C ±10°C. This automatic reset function makes it ideal for cycling applications without manual intervention.
• Electrical Ratings: It is rated for 16A at 125–250V AC, making it suitable for controlling significant loads in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• Robust Construction: Key components include an aluminium cap, a ceramic actuator pin for precise movement, and a corrosion-resistant SUS430 stainless steel flange for secure mounting.
• Electrical Integrity: The device maintains high insulation resistance (above 100MΩ at 500V DC) between its terminals and cap, ensuring safe operation. The contact resistance is kept low (below 50MΩ at 5V DC/0.25A) for efficient power transmission.
