The ONSEMI Low Power 2 Port USB 2.0 DPDT Analogue Switch is a bi-directional, high-speed UART switch designed for superior performance in demanding applications. Configured as a double-pole, double-throw (DPDT) switch, it is optimised for seamlessly switching between any combination of high-speed (480Mbps) or full-speed (12Mbps) sources, ensuring full compatibility with USB 2.0 standards.
Featuring an extremely low ON capacitance of 3.7pF and a wide bandwidth of 720MHz, this device exceeds the bandwidth required to pass the third harmonic. This results in signals with minimum edge and phase distortion, while superior channel-to-channel crosstalk effectively minimises interference.
The switch incorporates special circuitry on the I/O pins for scenarios where the VCC supply is powered off (VCC = 0V), allowing the device to withstand over-voltage conditions. It offers overvoltage tolerance (OVT) on all USB ports up to 5.25V without the need for external components. Additionally, the device boasts robust electrostatic discharge protection with an 8kV ESD rating and greater than 16kV power and ground ESD rating.
With a low on resistance of 3.9 ohms typical, a quiescent supply current of just 1µA max, and a rapid propagation delay of 0.25ns, this switch delivers highly efficient and speedy operation.
