The ONSEMI MC74HC157ADG is a high-speed CMOS quad 2-input Data Selector and Multiplexer, featuring pin compatibility with the LS157 series. Engineered for reliable digital signal routing, this device selects between two 4-bit data sources (A or B) and directs the chosen nibble to a single 4-bit output port (Y), based on the state of the Select input. The outputs present the data in a non-inverted form, ensuring signal integrity.
A key feature is the Output Enable control; applying a high-level signal to this input forces all four Y outputs to a low state, providing easy output management and bus interfacing. The inputs are designed for compatibility with standard CMOS outputs and, when used with pull-up resistors, are fully compatible with LSTTL logic families. This makes the device exceptionally versatile for mixed-logic system design.
