It consists of an AlGaAs infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a non-zero-crossing silicon bilateral AC switch (Triac). This configuration is fundamental for applications requiring random phase control of high-current Triacs or thyristors, enabling precise management of power delivery to loads.
A key feature of this device is its greatly enhanced static dv/dt capability, which ensures stable and consistent switching performance even when driving challenging inductive loads.
