The PIMORONI Tiny 2040 is an incredibly compact microcontroller development board that packs an impressive feature set into a footprint the size of a postage stamp. Powered by the RP2040 chip, it is fully compatible with Raspberry Pi Pico firmware and can be programmed over USB using C/C++ or MicroPython, making it a versatile choice for your electronics projects.
High-Performance Specifications
At the heart of this board is a dual-core ARM Cortex M0+ processor running at up to 133MHz, paired with 264kB of SRAM and 2MB of QSPI flash with Execute in Place (XiP) support. It features 16 GPIO pins for debugging, which include 12 IO pins and 4 12-bit ADC channels, providing extensive connectivity options for peripherals.
User-Friendly Design
The Tiny 2040 includes a user-controllable RGB LED and a physical switch for basic input, which doubles as a DFU select on boot. It utilises a modern USB-C connection for power and data, supporting a 3-5.5V input range, and includes an onboard 3V3 regulator for stable operation. Designed with castellated pads, the board can be directly soldered onto a PCB for permanent installations. Alternatively, pin headers can be soldered on for use with a breadboard (headers not included).
