PIMORONI Tiny 2040 Microcontroller Development Board, 8MB Flash

The PIMORONI Tiny 2040 is an incredibly compact microcontroller development board, packing a powerful feature set into a footprint the size of a postage stamp. Powered by the Raspberry Pi RP2040 chip, it is fully compatible with Raspberry Pi Pico firmware and can be programmed over USB using C/C++ or MicroPython.

Despite its minuscule size, this board includes 8MB QSPI flash with execute-in-place (XiP) support, USB-C connectivity, a user-controllable RGB LED, and a physical reset button. The onboard switch doubles as basic input and a DFU select on boot.

Design and Connectivity

Designed with castellated pads, the Tiny 2040 can be directly soldered onto a PCB for permanent installations. Alternatively, pin headers can be soldered on to use it with a breadboard (headers not included). It features 16 GPIO pins and debug capabilities, including 12 IO pins and 4 12-bit ADC channels. A built-in 3V3 regulator and USB-C power input (3-5.5V) ensure flexible power management.
