The Power Integrations TOP223YN is a second generation, off-line PWM switch in a 3-pin TO-220 package, designed for cost-effective and low-component-count switched-mode power supply solutions. It integrates a high-voltage power MOSFET, PWM control, fault protection, and other control circuitry onto a single CMOS chip, simplifying design and reducing time to market.

This switch supports flyback, forward, boost, and buck topologies, and works with primary or opto feedback. It features built-in auto-restart and current limiting, plus significant circuit enhancements that reduce sensitivity to board layout and line transients. The TOP223YN delivers up to 90% efficiency with very low AC/DC losses, and is stable in discontinuous or continuous conduction mode.
