Constructed from S55C carbon steel, the tool body is hardened to 52° ±2° HRC for durable strength, while the precision cutting edge is hardened to a superior 60° ±3° HRC. This specific heat treatment ensures the cutting edge remains exceptionally sharp and resistant to wear, even with repeated use on fine wires. The accurately machined jaws are capable of cleanly cutting copper wire with a maximum diameter of 1.3mm.
