The SEEED STUDIO RTC Expansion Module is a real-time clock (RTC) add-on board designed for the Raspberry Pi. Using the Analog Devices DS1307 chip, it provides accurate timekeeping even when the Raspberry Pi is powered off, thanks to the onboard CR1220 button cell backup.
The module communicates with the Raspberry Pi via the I2C bus and includes a 5-pin header with connections for 5V, 3.3V, RxD, and TxD for convenient debugging and serial communication. It counts seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year, including leap years, and maintains accuracy of ±2ppm from 0°C to +40°C.
