Featuring a full-speed USB 2.0 interface (12 Mbps), this bridge simplifies the transition from legacy serial ports to modern USB connections. It integrates the USB transceiver, clock, and a 1024-byte EEPROM, eliminating the need for external resistors or a crystal, which reduces component count and board space.
This device supports a wide range of baud rates from 300 bps to 1 Mbps, making it suitable for diverse data transfer applications. It includes robust buffering with a 576-byte receive buffer and a 640-byte transmit buffer to handle data bursts smoothly. The bridge supports both hardware and X-On/X-Off handshaking, and features event character support and line break transmission for comprehensive serial communication control.
On-chip power-on reset and a voltage regulator (3.3V output) simplify power management. The USB suspend states are supported via SUSPEND pins, and all handshaking and modem interface signals are provided for full UART compatibility. Housed in a compact QFN-EP package with 28 pins, this bridge operates over an industrial temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments. Note: It is a 1-port device with a supply voltage range of 3V to 3.6V.
