StarTech DisplayPort 2.1 DP80 Cable 1m Black 8K 16K HDR

StarTech DisplayPort 2.1 DP80 Cable 1m Black is a 1m DisplayPort 2.1 cable for high-resolution and high-refresh-rate display setups, supporting 8K and 16K resolutions with HDR10 and VESA DP80 certification.

Overview

VESA certified for DP80, this cable supports UHBR20 bandwidth of up to 80 Gb/s. It enables 16K resolution at 60Hz with Display Stream Compression (DSC) or 8K at 85Hz, suiting professional content creation, scientific visualisation, and gaming setups.

Display and Connectivity Features

Support for High Dynamic Range (HDR10) provides a wider colour gamut and higher contrast ratio for deeper blacks and brighter highlights. HDCP 2.2 support provides an encrypted connection for protected 4K and 8K content from streaming services and Blu-ray players. The cable supports NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technologies, and its Multi-Stream Transport (MST) capability allows multiple compatible monitors to be daisy-chained from a single DisplayPort output. It is backwards compatible with DisplayPort 2.0, 1.4, and 1.2 devices.

Build and Durability

The cable features a flexible TPE outer jacket rated for 600 bending cycles at 60 degrees, allowing it to route around desk edges and corners. Nickel-plated, latching connectors provide a secure fit, while aluminium-mylar foil and braid shielding minimise Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) for a stable signal in electrically noisy environments.
