StarTech U.2 to PCIe Adapter for 2.5-inch NVMe SSD Drives

StarTech U.2 to PCIe Adapter provides a direct route to high-speed NVMe storage in a standard desktop PC, connecting a 2.5-inch U.2 SSD through a PCI Express 3.0 x4 slot.

Overview

This host adapter allows you to use the high-speed performance and compact form factor of a U.2 NVMe solid-state drive in a standard desktop PC. The 2.5-inch U.2 SSD connects directly to the SFF-8639 connector on the adapter, and the card then interfaces with the motherboard through a PCI Express x4 slot, bypassing slower storage interfaces for a significant system speed boost.

The adapter simplifies system builds and upgrades by allowing the SSD to mount directly onto the card, eliminating the need for additional adapter cables. It is designed for straightforward integration and requires no drivers for operation, supporting a hassle-free setup process.

Key Features

• Performance boost: unlocks the full potential of a PCIe NVMe U.2 SSD, providing a substantial increase in data transfer speeds compared to traditional SATA drives.
• Simplified installation: the SSD mounts directly onto the adapter card, so no loose cables are needed.
• Broad compatibility: functions as a PCI Express 3.0 x4 lane host adapter and is compatible with motherboards featuring x4 PCIe 3.0 slots, while maintaining backward compatibility.
• Driver-free operation: the adapter is operating-system independent and does not require any special drivers.
