The Texas Instruments ESD Protection Device is a 4-channel, low-capacitance transient voltage suppressor (TVS) based electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection diode array. Designed to dissipate ESD strikes at the maximum level specified in the IEC 61000-4-2 international standard (level 4), this device provides robust protection for sensitive circuitry.
Featuring a 1.5pF IO capacitance per channel, it is ideal for high-speed data IO interfaces. The ultra-low leakage current (maximum 1nA) makes it suitable for precision analogue measurements in applications such as glucose meters and heart rate monitors. This unidirectional device offers higher IEC protection, lower capacitance, and lower clamping voltage while eliminating the input capacitor requirement.
Constructed with a central ESD clamp featuring two hiding diodes per line, it effectively reduces capacitive loading. The central ESD clamp is also connected to VCC to provide protection for the VCC line.
