The Texas Instruments Quad Voltage Comparator is a low-power, low-offset voltage device designed specifically to operate from a single power supply over a wide range of voltages. Operation from split power supplies is also possible, and the low power supply current drain is independent of the magnitude of the power supply voltage. A unique characteristic of this comparator is that the input common-mode voltage range includes ground, even when operated from a single power supply voltage. This eliminates the need for dual supplies and allows sensing near GND, making it highly versatile.
Designed to directly interface with TTL and CMOS logic, the device also interfaces directly with MOS logic when operated from dual power supplies. The output voltage is compatible with TTL, DTL, ECL, MOS, and CMOS logic systems, while the reduced VOS drift over-temperature ensures stability. Its low power drain makes it particularly suitable for battery operation.
