Texas Instruments low-power supervisor IC monitors 0.4-5V with 0.5% accuracy. Features 300ms delay, manual reset & open-drain output in SOT-23.
The Texas Instruments TPS3808G01DBVR is a highly efficient, low quiescent current supervisory circuit designed to monitor system voltages from 0.4V to 5V. It asserts an open-drain reset signal whenever the monitored sense voltage falls below a user-preset threshold, or when the manual reset (MR) pin is pulled to a logic low. This ensures system integrity by initiating a controlled reset sequence during power anomalies or on demand.
A key feature of this device is its precision voltage reference, which achieves an impressive 0.5% threshold accuracy for voltages at or below 3.3V, guaranteeing reliable monitoring for sensitive applications. After the sense voltage or manual reset input returns to a valid level, the reset output remains active low for a user-adjustable delay period, allowing the system ample time to stabilise.
Flexible Delay Configuration
The reset delay time is highly configurable to suit various system requirements. It can be set to a fixed 20ms by leaving the CT pin disconnected, or to a fixed 300ms by connecting it to VDD via a resistor. For full customisation, an external capacitor can be connected to the CT pin, allowing the delay to be finely adjusted across a wide range from 1.25ms up to 10 seconds.
Optimised for Low Power
With a typical quiescent current of just 2.4µA, this supervisor circuit is exceptionally well-suited for battery-powered and power-sensitive portable devices, helping to maximise operational life.
