Hand-held TREND NETWORKS fibre optic visual fault finder with 2.5mm universal connector. Locates breaks up to 5km away. Includes 80-hour battery life.
The TREND NETWORKS Fibre Optic Visual Fault Finder is a hand-held, battery-powered tool designed to quickly identify faults in fibre optic cabling. By projecting a highly visible red light into the cable, operators can easily locate breaks where the light escapes, seen as a conspicuously glowing or blinking red light area in cables of 3mm or smaller diameter.
Equipped with a high-power, extra long-life 650nm laser diode, this fault finder operates in either Continuous (CW) or Modulated (MOD; 1Hz pulse) mode. A convenient push button allows the user to select the required mode while preventing accidental operation, and a red LED on the outer case echoes the selected mode for easy reference.
This versatile tool assists in the termination of 'no-polish' connectors, such as the MTRJ, by indicating proper cleave alignment. Its non-roll design makes it essential for bench top use when terminating mechanical splices or internal-splice connectors. The universal 2.5mm interface connects directly to ST, SC, and FC connectors, offering broad compatibility.
