The unadjusted resistors undergo a heat treatment process to achieve the required temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and stability, followed by a precisely controlled laser trim process to adjust the resistance value to exact specifications.

Construction and Protection

Epoxy protection is applied to the element, and wrap-around terminations are added, plated with Nickel and then Tin. The standard termination is 100% Sn matte plated wrap-around, which is highly suitable for soldering. A passivated range provides superior humidity performance, ensuring durability in challenging environments.

Assembly and Integration

Ideally suited for handling by automatic methods, the PCF resistor features a rectangular shape and small dimensional tolerances. Electrical connections to a ceramic substrate or printed circuit board can be made by reflow or wave soldering of the wrap-around terminations.
