A helical groove is precisely cut into the resistive layer, often using a specialised laser, to achieve the target resistance value without damaging the ceramic substrate.
Tinned electrolytic copper wires are welded to the end-caps, and plated-steel termination caps are firmly pressed onto the metalized rods for secure connections. The resistor is coated with a light blue lacquer providing excellent electrical, mechanical, and climatic protection. This coating also ensures excellent solderability, making it suitable for automatic soldering using wave or dipping processes.
