The 1 Port RS232 Serial to Ethernet IP Device Server with 802.3af PoE provides a simple and effective way to remotely connect and control RS232 serial devices over an IP-based network. It supports data rates of up to 921.6kb/s, enabling reliable serial communication. The integrated 10/100Mbps RJ45 port features auto-negotiation for seamless LAN integration, while Power over Ethernet (PoE) compliance (IEEE 802.3af Type 1, 15.4W) allows both data and power to be delivered through a single network cable, simplifying installation.
The device server supports multiple protocols including TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP, and Telnet (RFC2217). It also enables serial tunnelling between two device servers over a LAN, making it ideal for a range of industrial applications. A common web UI ensures easy configuration on any operating system. Included Windows-based virtual COM software (compatible with Windows 8, 10, and 11) allows legacy serial applications to work over IP networks. For macOS and Linux users, the hardware is compatible, but configuration is only available via the WebUI.
The durable all-metal housing provides Level 4 ESD protection (15kV Air, 8kV contact), ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments. The device can be mounted on a DIN rail or wall, offering flexible installation options. The package includes the device server, DIN rail kit, mounting bracket, and user guide. Power is supplied via PoE or a 5V power adaptor (not included). The unit is fully TAA compliant and measures 25 x 46 x 82mm (HxWxD).
