The LM3150MH/NOPB is a SIMPLE SWITCHER® synchronous step-down controller from Texas Instruments, engineered to deliver up to 12A of output current in typical applications. Designed for robust performance, this controller operates over a wide 6V to 42V input voltage range and supports an adjustable output voltage down to 0.6V, making it suitable for a broad range of power supply designs.
This device employs a constant on-time (COT) control architecture with a proprietary emulated ripple mode, enabling stable operation with low ESR output capacitors. This reduces the overall solution size and output voltage ripple while providing an ultra-fast transient response. Thanks to its COT regulation, no loop compensation is required, significantly reducing external component count and simplifying the design process.
The LM3150MH/NOPB integrates comprehensive fault protection, including thermal shutdown, under-voltage lockout, overvoltage protection, short-circuit protection, current limit, and output voltage pre-bias start-up, ensuring a reliable and robust solution for demanding applications. It also features a valley current limit, programmable soft-start, and a green, halide-free design (no Sb/Br). The device is qualified for high-temperature environments, operating from -40°C to 125°C.
