The DFROBOT 12V DC Geared Motor with Encoder is a robust and precise metal-geared motor, engineered for demanding projects such as mobile robotics. Operating at 12V DC, this unit integrates a powerful motor with a durable 43.8:1 metal gearbox, providing a reliable combination of torque and speed. A key feature is its integrated quadrature Hall effect encoder, which delivers precise feedback with a resolution of 16 counts per revolution (CPR) of the motor shaft, equating to 700 CPR at the gearbox's output shaft, enabling accurate speed and position control.
Constructed for stability, the motor features a face plate with six M3 threaded mounting holes arranged in a regular hexagon pattern, with 15.5mm between the centres of neighbouring holes, facilitating secure installation. The output shaft is a 6mm diameter D-shaped design, 0.61 inches long, offering a positive connection for wheels or gears. While optimised for 12V operation, the motor can begin rotating from a low start voltage of just 1.0V, providing excellent low-speed controllability.

Important Installation Note: To prevent internal damage, do not screw mounting bolts further than 3mm (1/8”) into the threaded holes, as longer screws can contact and damage the internal gears.
