The DFROBOT Gravity: I2C to Dual UART Module is an essential expansion solution for developers and hobbyists facing a shortage of hardware serial ports. Most standard controller boards, such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and micro:bit, feature only one or two UARTs, with one typically reserved for programming or debugging. This module provides a perfect remedy, allowing you to expand your system's connectivity seamlessly.
Capable of supporting a maximum communication rate of 2Mbps and data transmission rates of up to 1Mbps, it ensures swift and reliable data flow. Each sub-UART features an independent 256-byte FIFO hardware buffer for both transmitting and receiving, preventing data loss during intensive operations. Furthermore, you can connect up to four of these modules to a single controller board to expand your setup with up to eight hardware serial ports.
The baud rate, word length, and check format of every sub-UART can be set independently, offering exceptional flexibility for complex projects. Utilising the Gravity I2C 4-pin communication port, it integrates effortlessly into existing Gravity ecosystems.
