ICY Dock ToughArmor MB902SPR-B Dual 2.5-inch SATA SSD/HDD RAID Mobile Rack

The ICY Dock ToughArmor MB902SPR-B is a dual-bay mobile rack that houses two 2.5-inch SATA SSDs or HDDs within a standard 5.25-inch drive bay.

Overview

The rack is designed for internal installation in a standard 5.25-inch optical drive bay and features an integrated hardware RAID chipset. This allows a RAID 1 array to be configured for instant data mirroring without the need for a specialised motherboard or additional controller card. Drives up to 15 mm thick are supported, making the enclosure compatible with a wide range of modern solid-state and hard drives.

Key Features

• EZ-Slide Drive Trays: Interchangeable trays allow drives to be swapped and maintained easily, with hot-swapping capability that does not require the computer to be powered down. The trays are also compatible with other ICY DOCK products.
• Secure Locking: The Eagle Hook locking mechanism firmly secures drives inside the enclosure, helping to prevent accidental disconnection.
• Built-in Hardware RAID: The JMS562 RAID chipset supports RAID 1 (mirroring) and JBOD (spanning) modes for flexible storage management.
• Status Monitoring: A comprehensive LED indicator system shows the status and health of the RAID array, removing the need for dedicated monitoring software.
• High-Speed Connectivity: Offers SATA transfer speeds of up to 6Gb/s via a 7-pin host connector and a 15-pin power input, with support for secure locking latch cables.
• Rugged Construction: Full-metal chassis with front ventilation for effective passive cooling. Anti-vibration technology minimises operational noise and safeguards against environmental damage.
