LED Tester

The Kemo-Electronic LED Tester is a dedicated, hand-held diagnostic tool designed for testing wired LEDs to verify their function, brightness, colour, and polarity. Its primary function is to allow technicians, hobbyists, and engineers to quickly and accurately assess the condition of light-emitting diodes before installation or as part of troubleshooting procedures.

A key feature facilitating direct comparison is the inclusion of two side-by-side test sockets, both supplying identical currents of 5mA or 10mA. This enables the user to easily select LEDs of equal brightness by testing them simultaneously under the same conditions, ensuring visual consistency in projects where matching light output is critical.

The tester offers a wide range of eight preset testing currents: 0.5mA, 1mA, 2.5mA, 5mA, 10mA, 20mA, 35mA, and 50mA. This broad spectrum allows for testing LEDs at various drive levels, from very low current for sensitive components up to higher currents to check maximum brightness and performance. Connection is made via a simple socket strip designed for standard wired LED leads.

Compact and portable, the unit is powered by a single 9V battery (not included), making it ideal for use on a workbench or in the field. Its straightforward operation and clear functionality make it an indispensable tool for anyone working with LED circuits, from simple hobby projects to more complex electronic assemblies.
