SparkFun Tsunami Super WAV Trigger Board with Qwiic Red

The SparkFun Tsunami Super WAV Trigger Board with Qwiic in red is a polyphonic audio board with 8 output channels, designed for interactive sound mixing across music, dialogue and sound effects in your projects.

Overview

Each output channel offers independent real-time volume control and sample-rate conversion. The board supports up to 4096 uncompressed, CD-quality WAV files (16-bit, 44.1kHz mono/stereo) and can play and mix 32 mono or 18 stereo tracks independently and simultaneously. The 8 audio output channels (or 4 stereo pairs) allow any track to be routed to any output.

Key Features

• Seamless looping of tracks of arbitrary length without gaps or distortion
• 16 trigger inputs supporting contact closure or 3.3V control
• Adjustable channel volume from +10dB to -70dB
• Integrated opto-isolator for secure MIDI controller connections
• Dedicated digital output pin for play status monitoring
• Serial control compatibility with SparkFun FTDI Basic 3.3V
• Qwiic connectivity simplifies I²C interfacing for rapid prototyping
• Dual power inputs supporting USB-C or PTH (plated through-hole) power connections
• Compact board measuring 73.7 mm x 74.9 mm, suited to embedded applications

Important Notes

• The microSD card must be formatted with a 32KB allocation size to ensure proper operation
• All inputs (triggers, serial RX) are not 5V tolerant and require appropriate voltage regulation

Development Support

The board is supported by full Arduino and Python libraries, which assist with integrating it into your own software projects.

Choose the SparkFun Tsunami Super WAV Trigger Board with Qwiic when you need a multi-channel WAV playback and mixing solution with trigger inputs, MIDI connectivity and Qwiic compatibility.
