STANLEY No.220 Block Plane, Adjustable, 40mm

The STANLEY No.220 Block Plane is a professional-grade, general-purpose woodworking tool designed for precision and ease of use. Its fine grey iron body ensures durability and stability, while its adjustable design allows you to control the depth of cut and alignment for optimal performance.

A block plane is specifically engineered to cut end grain efficiently, thanks to its low-angle blade bedding (bevel up). This design enables smoother slicing through wood fibres, making it ideal for paring end grain when held at an angle of up to 45° relative to the cutting direction. Its compact size allows for comfortable one-handed operation, providing greater control and accuracy.

Beyond end grain work, the No.220 Block Plane excels in various woodworking applications, such as:

• Cleaning up components by removing thin wood shavings for precise fitting
• Chamfering edges to create smooth, angled finishes
• Removing excess glue lines for seamless joins

With a cutter width of 40mm and a compact length of 180mm, this plane is both versatile and portable, perfect for workshop use or on-site woodworking projects.
