Texas Instruments fixed 3.3V buck switching regulator with 2.7V-5.5V input, 0.6A output, and SOT-23-5 package. Ideal for portable devices.
The Texas Instruments Buck (Step Down) Switching Regulator provides a highly efficient fixed output voltage of 3.3V, making it ideal for powering low-voltage circuits. Designed in a compact 5-pin SOT-23 surface-mount package, this DC-to-DC converter is optimised for use with a single Li-Ion cell battery and input voltage rails ranging from 2.7V to 5.5V.
This regulator offers superior performance for portable systems, featuring automatic intelligent switching between PWM low-noise mode and PFM low-current mode. This smart switching provides improved system control, while the hysteretic PFM mode extends battery life by reducing the quiescent current to just 16µA during light load and standby operation. Internal synchronous rectification ensures high efficiency during PWM mode, and in shutdown mode, battery consumption drops to a remarkably low 0.01µA. Furthermore, the design requires only three tiny external surface-mount components, saving valuable board space.
Key Features and Protection
With overall dimensions of 43 mm in height, 33 mm in width, and 15 mm in depth, and weighing just 0.084 grams, this compact regulator is perfectly suited for space-constrained and weight-sensitive applications.
