The Fixed Low Dropout Voltage Regulator is a micropower, ultra-low noise LDO (low dropout) regulator designed for superior performance in battery-powered applications. It provides a stable 3.3V output with 1% tolerance, delivering up to 150mA of output current. Operating from an input voltage range of 2.5V to 16V, it features an exceptionally low dropout voltage of just 280mV at the full 150mA load, maximising efficiency and battery life.
Constructed using an optimised VIP (Vertically Integrated PNP) process, this regulator is engineered to work with very low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) output capacitors, including ceramic types with ESR as low as 5 milliohms. It boasts a quiescent current of only 75µA at a 1mA load and 850µA at 150mA, ensuring minimal power draw during operation. When shut down, the device consumes less than 1µA. A key feature is its low noise output, which can be further reduced to 30µVrms (within a 30kHz bandwidth) by adding a small 10nF bypass capacitor.
