Texas Instruments 5V fixed LDO voltage regulator, 800mA output, 1.2V dropout. Features current limiting & thermal shutdown.
The Texas Instruments LM1117IMPX-5.0/NOPB is a low dropout (LDO) linear voltage regulator designed for efficient power management. Offering a fixed 5V output with a maximum current of 800mA, it provides stable and reliable voltage regulation for a wide array of electronic circuits.
A key advantage of this regulator is its low dropout voltage, requiring just 1.2V at full load current, which enhances efficiency and allows for operation with lower input voltages. It incorporates essential protection features including current limiting and thermal shutdown, safeguarding the device and your circuit from damage due to overloads or excessive temperature.
The regulator ensures high precision with an output voltage accuracy within ±1%, thanks to a Zener trimmed band gap reference. It delivers excellent regulation performance with a maximum line regulation of 0.2% and load regulation of 0.4%. For optimal transient response and stability, a minimum of a 10µF tantalum capacitor (non-ceramic) is recommended at the output.
Housed in a compact SOT-223-3 surface-mount package, it features the same pin-out as the industry-standard LM317, making it a convenient drop-in upgrade or replacement in many designs. It is a green product, manufactured without antimony or bromine (no Sb/Br), and operates across a broad temperature range from -40°C to 125°C.
