The Texas Instruments TLC7524CN is a high-performance 8-bit multiplying digital-to-analogue converter (DAC), expertly engineered for seamless interfacing with a wide range of popular microprocessors. Its design includes on-chip data latches and load cycles that mimic the write cycles of random access memory (RAM), simplifying integration into digital systems.

A key architectural feature is the segmentation of high-order bits, which significantly minimises output glitches—particularly those associated with changes in the most significant bits (MSB) that typically generate the highest glitch impulse. This results in a cleaner, more stable analogue output, which is crucial for precision applications. The converter offers guaranteed monotonic performance over the entire temperature range, ensuring reliable and predictable operation.

Constructed using advanced CMOS technology, the TLC7524CN achieves excellent linearity, providing accuracy to within ½ LSB without requiring expensive thin-film resistors or laser trimming.
