LP2985 fixed LDO regulator: 5V, 150mA, 280mV dropout, low noise, ideal for battery-powered devices.
The Texas Instruments LP2985AIM5-5.0/NOPB is a low-noise, fixed-output linear regulator designed to deliver up to 150mA of output current with an ultra-low dropout voltage of just 280mV (typical). This makes it an ideal power management solution for battery-powered, portable, and space-constrained applications.
Utilising an optimised vertical integrated PNP (VIP) process, this regulator provides exceptional performance, including 1% output voltage accuracy and low quiescent current of 75µA at 1mA load (850µA at 150mA load). It operates over a wide input voltage range of 2.5V to 16V and delivers a fixed 5V output.
The device is stable with low-ESR ceramic output capacitors (as low as 5mΩ) and incorporates over-temperature and overcurrent protection for robust, reliable operation in demanding environments. Adding a 10nF bypass capacitor can reduce output noise to as low as 30µVRMS in a 30kHz bandwidth. With a shutdown quiescent current of less than 1µA, the LP2985 is optimised for power-sensitive designs.
