The Audio-Technica Line + Gradient Condenser Shotgun Microphone is expertly designed for video production and broadcast (ENG/EFP) audio acquisition. As Audio-Technica's shortest shotgun microphone, it mounts conveniently on a DV camcorder without adding noticeable heft, making it an ideal companion for compact digital cameras.
This high-performance microphone features a narrow acceptance angle of line + gradient design, providing the directional precision required for long-distance sound pickup. It delivers smooth, natural-sounding on-axis audio quality alongside excellent off-axis rejection, effectively minimising sound arriving from the sides and rear. A tailored frequency response minimises camera and handling noise, whilst a very balanced output with a slight bump at 5kHz ensures clear and present audio.
Extremely short in length (under 7” / 175mm) and very light, it is easily mounted on a compact camera or digital video camera equipped with an XLR input. It can also be run with a microphone preamp or recorder that can supply phantom power. The microphone operates on phantom power only (11-52V DC).
