The Broadcom HCPL-4503-300E is a high-performance 1-channel, 8-pin surface-mount optocoupler, featuring a diode-transistor configuration. It uses an insulating layer between an LED and an integrated photodetector to provide reliable electrical insulation between input and output, making it an essential component for applications requiring signal isolation and protection.
This optocoupler excels in high-speed switching applications. Separate connections for the photodiode bias and output-transistor collector increase the speed up to a hundred times that of a conventional phototransistor coupler by reducing the base-collector capacitance. This makes it ideal for high-voltage insulation, video signal isolation, and line receiver applications.
The HCPL-4503-300E delivers outstanding performance with an open collector output and a minimum common mode transient immunity of 15kV/µs at VCM=1500V. It supports a maximum working insulation voltage of 630V and operates over a temperature range of 0 to 70°C, ensuring reliable performance in diverse environments.
