The Compact M.2 HAT+ is a mechanical adapter board designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi 5. It enables you to connect M.2 peripherals, such as NVMe drives and AI accelerators, directly to the Raspberry Pi 5’s single-lane PCI Express 2.0 interface. This allows for fast data transfer rates of up to 500MB/s to and from NVMe drives and other compatible PCIe accessories.
The adapter converts the Raspberry Pi 5’s 16-pin, 0.5mm pitch FPC connector to a subset of the M.2 standard. It features an M key edge connector, supporting M.2 drives in both the 2230 and 2242 form factors. Additionally, the board is capable of supplying up to 3A of power to connected M.2 devices, ensuring stable and reliable performance for power-hungry peripherals.
Equipped with power and activity LEDs, the HAT+ provides clear visual feedback on operational status. It fully conforms to the Raspberry Pi HAT+ specification, guaranteeing broad compatibility and straightforward integration. The kit includes all necessary mounting hardware: a ribbon cable, a 16mm stacking header, threaded spacers and screws, plus a knurled double-flanged screw to securely support the M.2 peripheral.
With compact dimensions of 36.5 mm in height, 26 mm in width, and 13.5 mm in depth, and a lightweight design of just 21 grams, this adapter fits neatly into your build without adding unnecessary bulk.
