The FTDI TTL-232R-3V3-PCB is a USB to TTL serial UART converter PCB, incorporating the FT232RQ USB to Serial UART interface IC device, which handles all USB signalling and protocols. This PCB offers a fast and simple way to connect devices with a TTL level serial interface to USB, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.
The board is USB powered and USB 2.0 full speed compatible, with support for data transfer rates up to 3Mbaud. It includes a USB type A connector and an internal electronic circuit board utilising the FT232R chip. The PCB also supports the FTDIChip-ID feature, with a unique USB serial number programmed into the FT232R, which can be used to create security or password protected file transfer access.

Requires USB drivers, which are used to make the FT232R on the PCB appear as a VCP, allowing communication via a standard PC serial emulation port. The D2XX driver can also be used with application software to directly access the FT232R through a DLL.
