The HIFIBERRY Amp2 Power Amplifier is an efficient Class D power amplifier that enables you to use a Raspberry Pi to create a stereo audio system. Speakers can be connected directly to the board, making it an ideal choice for discreet or multi-room audio applications where minimising additional hardware is essential.
Delivering up to 60W of output power, the amplifier is capable of driving a pair of 4-8 ohm speakers. It supports sample rates up to 192kHz and incorporates a built-in DAC with digital sound transmission for clear audio performance. This direct digital pathway helps to maintain the integrity of the audio signal from the Raspberry Pi to the speakers.
The Amp2 is compatible with Raspberry Pi A+, B+, 2B, 3B, and Zero models featuring a 40-pin GPIO header. It requires a single 12-24V external power supply, which is not included. This power supply also powers the Raspberry Pi during use, reducing cable clutter and simplifying your setup. The kit contains the board only, weighing just 51 grams with compact dimensions of 36.5 mm x 26 mm x 13.5 mm, allowing for seamless integration into custom audio projects.
