ITL Insulated Large Cable Wedge, 1000V
ITL Insulated 1000V cable wedge for live line work. Nylon thermoplastic, IEC 60900 compliant, rated for -40°C to +70°C. 255mm long.
The ITL Insulated Large Cable Wedge is an essential tool for electrical professionals, specifically designed for safe and efficient work on live cables. Rated for 1000V, it is constructed to separate and wedge between inner cable cores, providing a reliable barrier during jointing, splicing, and maintenance tasks on energised lines. Its robust design also allows it to function as a prying tool, assisting in the intricate process of cable termination.
Engineered from high-strength, injection-moulded Nylon Thermoplastic, this wedge exceeds the rigorous requirements of the IEC 60900 standard—the definitive industry benchmark for live line working tools. It offers exceptional dielectric strength and durability, ensuring user safety when working in proximity to live conductors. This material choice results in a tool that is tough, resilient, and virtually indestructible under normal working conditions.
A standout feature is its compliance with the demanding Category 'C' performance standard. This certification requires the tool to function reliably across an extreme temperature range from -40°C to +70°C, making it uniquely suited for use in harsh and varied environments, from freezing outdoor substations to hot industrial settings. This capability is rare in its category and underscores the tool's superior engineering.
