This KEMET C Series SMD MLCC is a commercial grade, X7R dielectric, surface mount multilayer ceramic chip capacitor (MLCC). The Electronics Components, Assemblies and Materials Association (EIA) characterises X7R as a Class II dielectric material, making this component an ideal choice for bypass and decoupling applications, as well as for frequency discriminating circuits where high Q and stable capacitance characteristics are not critical.
The X7R dielectric exhibits a predictable change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage, and its capacitance varies minimally with ambient temperature. This makes the capacitor well suited for filtering, transient voltage suppression, and general-purpose use in a wide range of electronic circuits.
This capacitor offers a capacitance of 22µF with a ±10% tolerance, and a 25V DC voltage rating. It comes in a 2220 (5650 metric) case size and has an operating temperature range from -55°C to 125°C. As a non-polar device, it minimises installation concerns, and its 100% pure matte tin-plated termination finish provides excellent solderability.
