The LITTELFUSE SMBJ Series surface-mount Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diode is specifically designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It is ideal for safeguarding I/O interfaces, VCC buses, and other vulnerable circuits, whilst its surface-mount design optimises board space.
This unidirectional diode boasts a 600W peak pulse power capability on a 10x1000μs waveform, alongside excellent clamping capability and low incremental surge resistance. Featuring a glass passivated chip junction and built-in strain relief, it ensures robust and reliable performance. The device offers a fast response time of less than 1ps from 0V to V(BR) and a reverse current of less than 1μA above 12V, with a 0.01% repetition rate (duty cycle).
It provides ESD protection of data lines in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2 and EFT protection of data lines in accordance with IEC 61000-4-4. With a reverse standoff voltage of 5V and a maximum clamping voltage of 9.2V, it is a dependable choice for circuit protection.
