Microchip 8-bit I/O expander with I2C interface. Ideal for automotive, industrial & embedded applications. Low standby current.
The Microchip 8-Bit I/O Expander I2C PDIP18 provides an 8-bit, general-purpose, parallel I/O expansion specifically designed for I2C bus applications. This versatile device consists of multiple 8-bit configuration registers for input, output, and polarity selection, allowing the system master to easily enable the I/Os as either inputs or outputs by writing the I/O configuration bits.
The data for each input or output is conveniently stored in the corresponding Input or Output register. Additionally, the polarity of the Input Port register can be inverted using the Polarity Inversion register, offering enhanced flexibility for various circuit designs. All registers can be read by the system master, ensuring seamless integration and control.
