Featuring a robust RISC CPU architecture, it includes 15 special function hardware registers and an 8-level deep hardware stack, ensuring efficient processing for your embedded designs.

This microcontroller offers versatile memory options with EEPROM data memory that is readable and writable during normal operation across the full VDD range. It is indirectly addressed through special function registers and boasts a data retention span of over 40 years. The device incorporates a reliable Watchdog Timer (WDT) with its own on-chip RC oscillator, which can only be shut off via configuration bits.

Key Features and Power Management

Designed for stability, the MCU includes two essential timers to minimise external component requirements. The Oscillator Start-up Timer (OST) holds the chip in reset until the crystal oscillator stabilises, while the Power-up Timer (PWRT) provides a fixed 72ms nominal delay on power-up, maintaining the reset state until the power supply stabilises. With these on-chip timers, most applications require no external reset circuitry. Additional features include Power-on Reset (POR), In-Circuit Serial Programming™ (ICSP™) via two pins, code protection, and a power-saving sleep mode. It also supports a high current sink/source for direct LED drive.
