The Microchip Stand-Alone System Load Sharing and Battery Charge Management Controller is designed for single-cell Li-Ion and Li-Polymer batteries. It efficiently manages power source selection between an AC-DC wall adapter and a USB port, or autonomously selects between the input power source and the battery, ensuring continuous system operation.
This device strictly adheres to USB current draw specifications. When powered by an AC-DC wall adapter, an external resistor allows the configuration of up to a 1A maximum charge current, whilst supporting a total current of up to 1.8A for both the system load and battery charging. It employs a constant current/constant voltage (CC/CV) charge algorithm with a selectable charge termination point, ensuring safe and efficient battery management.
