The Microchip MIC2026-1YM is a dual-channel power distribution switch designed for general-purpose power distribution requiring circuit protection. It provides robust protection for both the device and the load through internal current limiting and thermal shutdown, ensuring reliable operation in demanding conditions.
This switch features smart thermal shutdown, which reduces current consumption in fault modes. When a thermal shutdown fault occurs, the output is latched off until the faulty load is removed. The output can be reset by removing the load or toggling the enable input. The device also incorporates soft-start circuitry to minimize inrush current in applications with highly capacitive loads, enhancing system stability.
The fault status output flag is asserted during overcurrent and thermal shutdown conditions, with transient faults internally filtered and a 3ms filter to eliminate false assertions. Additional features include under-voltage lockout, reverse current flow blocking (no body diode), circuit breaker mode, and logic-compatible inputs. The MIC2026-1YM offers a maximum on-resistance of 140mΩ per channel, thermally isolated channels, and low quiescent current, making it a versatile and efficient power management solution.
This device is pin-compatible with the MIC2526 and is suitable for a wide range of applications in consumer electronics and power management. Its high-side switch configuration, dual-channel output, and active-high enable input provide a simple and effective solution for protecting and controlling power distribution in your designs.
