The Multicomp Pro MCKNP series is a robust wire-wound resistor designed for reliability in demanding electronic applications. It features a rod-type ceramic body with a flame-proof coating and tin-plated iron surface steel end caps for excellent durability and solderability.
Its construction utilises an annealed copper lead wire coated with a tin-lead alloy, ensuring strong, reliable connections. The component is fully insulated with a non-flame paint coating, meeting high safety standards. It is a non-inductive type, making it suitable for AC and pulse applications where inductance must be minimised. The resistor exhibits excellent flame resistance and is qualified to the AEC-Q200 standard for automotive and other high-reliability uses.
The leads are designed for secure mounting and can be joined by welding. For mechanical stress testing, the terminal leads can be bent 90° approximately 6mm from the resistor body and rotated 360° in alternating directions for a total of three rotations without failure. This ensures integrity in applications subject to vibration or movement.
With a power rating of 3 watts and a resistance tolerance of ±5%, this 2.2-ohm resistor provides stable performance. It operates effectively in ambient temperatures up to 70°C and features a temperature coefficient of ±400 ppm/°C. Its axial-leaded package is a standard through-hole format for easy PCB integration.
