This STMicroelectronics Li-Ion Battery Monitor IC features a coulomb counter and gas gauge in an 8-pin MSOP package. The device monitors critical parameters of a single-cell Li-Ion battery, including voltage, temperature, and current. It incorporates hardware functions to implement a gas gauge for battery charge monitoring, based on a programmable 12 to 14-bit A/D converter.
With a typical 30mohm external sense resistor, the battery current can reach up to 2.5A. The accumulator system provides a capacity up to ±7000mAh with a resolution of 0.2mAh. Programmable through the I2C interface, this IC facilitates straightforward gas gauge monitoring and device control.
